Born in May 1900, Ethel Lang was said to be last person living in the UK who was born in the reign of Queen Victoria, which made her the oldest person in UK.
She died on Thursday at the Water Royd House nursing home, in Barnsley. The home confirmed her death but said it could not comment any further.
