A man hacks into e-mail, and steals N700,000

       A 44 years old man named Emmanuel who is an aluminium fabricator, has yesterday appeared before an Ikeja magistrate court for allegedly hacking into an e-mail account, and duped a man of N700,000.

      The accused is standing trial on a four- count charge of fraud, stealing, forgery and impersonation. Emmanuel hacked into the e-mail account of one Mrs Ose Oyakhilome on the 5th of June, and sent a mail to Mr Chidi Ezinmako seeking financial assistance.

      The prosecutor Mr Edet Okoi said the accused falsely represented himself as Mrs Oyakhilome, and defrauded Mr Ezinmako of N700,000. The accused have how ever pleaded not guilty to the charges which could amount to 15 years imprisonment. The case has been adjourned by the magistrate till July 14th.
